Have patience for the ones who are still trying to find who they are and where they fit in life. Give them the grace they need when they change courses, careers, hairstyles and clothes. Be considerate of the chaos in their mind and relaxed in your immediate desire to doubt and judge them. Remember all the times you walked down a pathway, drove down a road or followed a river - only to find that it didn’t take you where you believed it would.. Remember them, and remember the reassurance you needed to hear every time things came to a stop. Remember who you needed, and be that companion for those around you who are still mapping out their goals and dreams. Fill them with glorious hope and ignite visions in their heart. Surround them with assurance of better tomorrows and exciting futures. Encourage them to imagine and explore potentials and possibilities and to move forward from all that they leave behind, by ending well. Help them to close doors at peace and say goodbyes with a wholesome heart. Don’t let them lose their pace or get distracted along the way; in fact, take them on your journey when they become stagnant and pick them up when they collapse in a heap. Love all that is good within them and all that is productive that comes out of them, and give your honest to God best when they feel they have nothing to give. Be there to pioneer what comes next, and champion their desires as your own. Cheer them on in their changes; and cover their movements with prayer. Point them to the Maker when they lose their direction and turn the other cheek when their frustration is misplaced with you. Hold tight and don’t give up. When success is in clear view and they fall short of reaching their potential; patch their wounds and heartaches with courage and kindness - and allow them to grieve through it, and grow. When they make it (and they will), be the one who believes ‘well done’ without wondering if they will fail again.. But most of all, allow God to fill you with the riches of His heart, so that your well of giving will never run dry. Let your life be overflowing with the fruits of The Spirit; and crowded with the nature of the King you serve, reflect and love.
